Sunday Chat – Garden and MINIs from From My Carolina Home

Rain fell for days at the end of the week, but breaks in the clouds here and there allowed a few more photos of our local avian choir. I sat on the veranda in the cool morning air, quiet and calm, listening to the birdsong. This chickadee was still for just a moment before swooping to the bird feeder for a bite of breakfast.

I watched the birdhouse, delighted to see the bluebird going out and in several times. I hope she is feeding hatchlings, although I cannot be sure.

She was very busy on this morning.

October 20, 2022 from Ravelly1

Good heavens.......I've not been posting so quite some time. Here's a bit of what I've been doing in not certain order.

My community group hosted a car show. It was so much fun. The white Chevy truck took first place.

A Fabulous Picnic on a Beautiful Day from From My Carolina Home

This past weekend was an annual event for one of our car clubs, a picnic to welcome new members to the club. Temps were in the low 80s, with low humidity, and a breeze that at ...

This past weekend was an extraordinary show in the tiny town of Highlands in the mountains of western North Carolina. The Highlands Motoring Festival is a multi-day event for registrants, and includes a show on Saturday for the public. The link will tell more about the cars on display, some worth millions, and a few really priceless due to their history in racing. This year the featured marque was Porsche, so we gathered with some buddies that have those to drive ...

Autumn In the Mountains Car Show from From My Carolina Home

This past weekend was our annual car show for the British Car Club. The day began foggy and cool, and cars were arriving early. It was apparent that the cancellation of shows last spring and many over the summer have left our car loving public desperate for some four wheel fun.

By the time registration closed, we had over 200 cars! All makes of British cars, along with several categories of European cars were represented.

Our little modern MINI on the left led off the category of MINIs. Most were classics from decades past.

Exotic cars like these two Lotus ...
